PREMENSTRUAL DYSPHORIC DISORDER

If your mood shifts dramatically before your period; if anxiety, irritability, sadness, or overwhelm feel intense and cyclical, you may be experiencing Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).

PMDD is more than “bad PMS” it is a real, hormone-sensitive condition that can deeply impact your emotions, relationships, and sense of self.

PMDD can feel like intense irritability, anxiety, or mood swings before your cycle, emotional overwhelm or depression during the luteal phase, or feeling like a completely different version of yourself each month. Many people also notice relief once their period starts, followed by confusion, guilt, or shame about what they experienced.

If this sounds familiar, there is a reason—and there is support.

In PMDD-focused therapy, we work together to understand your cycle-related patterns, reduce shame and self-blame, build coping tools for the hardest parts of your cycle, support emotional regulation and relationship stress, and help you feel more grounded and in control of your experience.
